In an effort to reduce air travel fraud, ARC reports the launch of a fraud prevention website that will allow travel agents to register for fraud alerts and future webinars, as well as obtain information about current trends and guidance for identifying and stopping fraud.
Jennifer Watkins, ARC's director of credit card services and fraud prevention, made the announcement during the Fraud Prevention Panel discussion at TravelConnect, ARC’s first annual customer conference.
“One of the best ways to fight fraud in the travel agency distribution channel is through collaboration and education,” stated Watkins. “ARC’s position in the industry and commitment to helping agents better manage the risk of fraud made launching the website the logical next step in our fraud prevention efforts.”
ARC notes it has played a role in fraud prevention in the air travel industry since the days of paper tickets.
