InterContinental New York Times Square Opens

Joining InterContinental New York Barclay in the Big Apple, IHG opens the InterContinental New York Times Square today. As promised, rising 36 stories at 44th Street, the property's 607 rooms make it the world's largest hotel in room number and the largest hotel in New York to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.

The Jeffrey Beers International-designed interior merges New York Art Deco with contemporary and natural design, including a courtyard viewing garden with a reflecting pool and sculptures. Meanwhile the Gensler-designed exterior was inspired by the Theatre District and Clinton influences. Take advantage the hotel's proximity to Fifth Avenue's shopping and the Broadway Theatre district, and savor chef Todd English's French bistro-inspired restaurant, Ca Va, which opens later this month.
