New Prestige Brand To Be Introduced At GBTA

bangkokOkura Hotels & Resorts and JAL Hotels will exhibit together at the Global Business Travel Association’s (GBTA) 2012 Convention in Boston, July 22-25, and introduce  a new brand, "Okura Prestige".

The first Okura Prestige hotel, The Okura Prestige Bangkok, opened in May. The second, The Okura Prestige Taipei, will open August 3. The GBTA conference is expected to attract about 6,000 business travel industry professionals.

The two hotel organizations, both owned by Hotel Okura Co., Ltd., will be at booth #1324 to provide information on all properties in their four brands: Okura Hotels, Okura Frontier Selection, Nikko Hotels International and Hotel JAL City.

"It is our intention to expand aggressively in the global market," said Toshihiro Ogita, president and CEO, Hotel Okura Co., Ltd. "Our ‘Okura Prestige’ brand will be used for a new group of mid-sized, international luxury hotels, featuring futuristic, ultra-modern design, which we believe will appeal to upscale, hip consumers regardless of their age."

JAL Hotels reports plans for two new openings in 2013: Hotel Nikko Guangzhou and Hotel Nikko Suzhou, both in China.
Okura Hotels & Resorts has  a network of 25 hotels with a total of 7,774 guest rooms in and outside Japan including The Okura Prestige Taipei. In addition to its luxury group, Okura Hotels & Resorts operates Okura Frontier Selection hotels.

In September, 2010 Hotel Okura Co., Ltd. acquired the majority of shares in JAL Hotels Co., Ltd., also an international hospitality company headquartered in Tokyo.

JAL Hotels manages 53 hotels with a total of 16,530 guest rooms in two groups:Nikko Hotels International, an international luxury hotel group with properties on four continents, and Hotel JAL City, a group of mid-priced business hotels in Japan.
