Re-Opened Savoy London Welcomes First Guest: Stephen Fry

Stephen Fry, Tony Cortegaca and Kiaran MacDonaldCelebrating the re-opening of The Savoy London, actor Steven Fry underscored the history of hotel, whose patrons have included Sir Winston Churchill, Oscar Wilde, Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe, among many others. Greeted by Tony Cortegaca, head doorman, and Kiaran MacDonald, the GM, Fry arrived in a black car that sported the license plate, S8VOY.

Following its three-year renovation, The Savoy London welcomed Fry as its first guest since its opening October 10. Fry first stayed at central London hotel in the 1980's, when Peter Rogers, producer of the film series, Carry On, had to leave and didn't want to pack his things.
