According to a New York Daily News report, Nikki Beach Resort & Spa in Turks and Caicos has gone “belly up.” The News reported earlier this week that Leeward Resort Ltd.— the owner of Nikki Beach Resort & Spa— has been placed into receivership, General Manager Jonathan Steers told the paper.
The Travel Channel this year rated the resort, which opened less than two years ago, #2 on its list of the 21 hottest Caribbean escapes. But now the 430-acre resort and 110-slip mega-yacht marina will be managed by the British Caribbean Bank until a buyer is found, according to ads taken out in local newspapers.
