Sixty Hotels, the luxury hotel company based in New York City and Los Angeles, has announced its first international hotel opening. Sixty Montreal will open in 2016 in the heart of Montreal’s cultural and financial district.

“The cultural and creative sensibility of the city along with its jet-set style makes Montreal an ideal location to open the next Sixty Hotel,” said Jason Pomeranc, co-owner of Sixty Hotels. “Montreal is filled with eclectic and inspiring neighborhoods and offers fantastic global appeal. Our plan is to build a hotel that takes its inspiration from the local architecture and character of the city, while injecting Sixty’s flair for hospitality to create a very chic and sophisticated destination hotel.”

The hotel will include a signature restaurant and lounge, 70 luxury residences along with additional guestrooms, the city’s first indoor / outdoor rooftop bar with a pool and more. Icrave, the New York-based design firm, will create the interiors. Sixty Montreal will also collaborate with the Benisti family, owners of Point Zero. Point Zero is Canada’s number one manufacturer in sports and street wear.

“Opening Sixty Montreal in 2016 will be a fantastic next step for our new company, and we’re delighted to be working with a great set of partners to open the first Sixty Hotel abroad,” said Stephen Brandman, co-owner of Sixty Hotels.

The hotel will be located between Place Des Art and Palais des Congres on René Lévesque Boulevard.
