First Curio Collection by Hilton Opens in Hamburg

This July, Curio Collection, a Hilton Worldwide brand, announced the opening of its first-ever European hotel in Hamburg, Germany. Originally built in 1910, the Reichshof Hamburg hotel is located in the center of the historic city next to Alster Lake, the Rathaus, shops, restaurants and other iconic attractions.

The new hotel was designed to mimic the “golden 20s,” an age where Art Deco and glamorous details highlighted the world’s most luxurious hotels. Aside from their elegant design, each guestroom features flat-screen HDTVs, complimentary WiFi, illuminated vanity mirrors, rain showers and views of Hamburg.

Guests can also enjoy the recently upgraded Slowman, a gourmet restaurant with a European twist. Using organic, best-quality ingredients, the restaurant offers multi-course menus every day of the week. For a more casual experience, the hotel’s Bar 1910 features a wide selection of creative cocktails, while the lobby’s Sushi & Sweets serves afternoon tea, sushi menus and more.

Best Western Announces New Indonesia Property

Opening this month in Solo is Indonesia’s newest hotel, Best Western Premier Solo Baru. Located in Solo’s tallest building, the new hotel has an outdoor pool, a rooftop cocktail lounge and restaurant and a full-service spa with a workout facility.

The hotel’s 22nd-floor infinity pool overlooks Solo’s unique skyline, while the nearby Sky Lounge offers poolside lunch and dinner menus. The onsite gym and spa features an aerobics instructor, steam room and high end fitness equipment so guests can stay fit while on vacation.

Solo Baru is also nearby a range of site seeing attractions, including Kasunanan Palace and the Triwindhu Antique Market, a traditional open air market featuring antiques, crafts, statues, lamps, porcelain objects, toys and other unique valuables. Guests are also urged to visit Semarang, a city located on the coast of Java, and Pandawa, a local village with a mystical past. Trips can be arranged through the hotel’s concierge service.
