W Hotels to Roll Out 11 New Hotels in Asia by 2018

Rendering of W SingaporeYesterday, W Hotels Worldwide announced plans to more than double its Asian presence by the end of 2018.  “Asia is a rapidly growing market, long known for exemplary, traditional service in hospitality,” said Paul James, Global Brand Leader, W Hotels Worldwide, St. Regis, and The Luxury Collection. Rapidly growing indeed! When this is accomplished, travelers will have the option to stay in nearly twenty luxury W Hotels and Retreats throughout nine countries in the Asia Pacific region.  
 
The W brand first entered Asia in 2004 with the opening of W Seoul - Walkerhill. Since then, there has been a significant increase in the demand for luxury brand hotels in the area as old cities transform and become more modern. W Hotels has met this demand and strengthened its presence in the region with eight hotels and retreats in seven countries, including properties in Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Maldives, and Hong Kong. In addition to these holdings, W Hotels will open eleven new properties in the Asia Pacific region by 2018. The new properties include: W Guangzhou Hotel & Residences (March 31, 2013); W Beijing – Chang’an, W Changsha, and W Shanghai – The Bund in 2014; W Retreat & Spa Goa and W Mumbai in 2015; W Noida – Delhi NCR, W Jakarta, and W Kuala Lumpur in 2016; and W Delhi NCR – Gurgaon WTC and W Suzhou in 2017.
