Carnival's Anderson To Retire, Harber To Replace Him

March 6, 2008 By: Travel Agent Central Contributor Travel Agent

Jack Anderson, the longtime corporate marketing vice president for Carnival Corp., who was a pioneer in marketing Alaska as a cruise destination, will retire at the end of this month after 32 years in the industry. Anderson spent 23 years with Carnival's Holland America brand before joining Carnival's corporate ranks in 1999. He will remain on as a consultant to Carnival Corp. Anderson commented that he would have retired after his career with Holland America, but was persuaded against doing so by Carnival Corp. Chairman Micky Arison. Bill Harber, a 15-year marketing veteran, who has been director of global initiatives for Carnival Corp. for the past four years, will assume Anderson's duties. (DE)
