Globus' Phillip Gordon to Retire

Phillip Gordon, former president and chief executive officer of the Globus family of brands, is retiring after five years as chairman and a 38 year career with Globus.  

“For nearly four decades, Phillip Gordon has played a major role in establishing what the Globus family of brands is in our market today, ” said Scott Nisbet, president and CEO of Globus. 

Gordon began his Globus carer in Italy as a tour director and  in 1976, he joined the company’s headquarters in Lugano, Switzerland.  Four years later, he moved to New York to launch Globus and Cosmos’ “Visit America” program. 

Gordon then joined the company’s product planning department and in 1985, he was named managing director of product development and operations for North America, South America and the Pacific-area region. 

In 1998 he became chief operating officer and in 2004, Gordon was appointed president and CEO for Globus.  Since 2009, he has served as the company’s chairman.

Gordon will retire the first week of October.
