RIU Hotels & Resorts Joins VAX VacationAccess

VAX VacationAccess is welcoming RIU Hotels & Resorts, who recently joined the more than 50 brands marketing and distributing on the VAX platform. More than 100,000 travel agents are registered to research, market and sell agent-friendly suppliers participating in VAX.

RIU Hotels & Resorts said it joined VAX to expand their reach to travel agents and to use VAX as an extension of their sales force to educate agents on their brand and provide valuable offers.

VAX provides an efficient and proven resource to communicate with qualified and engaged agents about hotel openings, updates and changes, and special offers, RUI said.

RIU Hotels & Resorts are featured and sold in packages provided by many of the VAX VacationAccess suppliers including Alaska Airlines Vacations, Funjet Vacations, Pleasant Holidays, Travel Impressions, US Airways Vacations, Vacation Express and VAX VacationAccess Hotel Only.

“Within the first three months of our VAX participation, RIU Hotels & Resorts is pleased with the new activities and increased level of agency engagement. We are impressed with the diversity of placement and activities throughout the VAX platform. Our goals and objectives for joining VAX were to reach qualified agents through a new channel, allowing us to educate and train them on the value of our brand. The initial traffic has been strong and we are getting a positive reaction from the agent community,” said Sarah Martinache, partner marketing manager for RIU Hotels and Resorts.

“We value our relationship with VAX VacationAccess and the opportunity to increase our business and showcase our brand to these top agencies, including the many home-based agents we can now reach,” Martinache said.

“VAX VacationAccess is excited to have RIU Hotels & Resorts on the platform. RIU has a variety of properties and locations and their participation provides agents a great resource to research, market and sell their properties with confidence. Agents welcome the information and insight on new properties, renovations, and other events as well as the marketing tools and offers they are able to use when selling to their customers,” said Kathy Fitzpatrick, president of VAX VacationAccess.

RIU is one of the suppliers featured in National Plan a Vacation Week, which started on Sunday, March 18. VAX VacationAccess said it is pleased to offer National Plan a Vacation Week, a platform that highlights the value of travel agents and supports them in demonstrating this value to their customers.

In addition to their own micro-site, agents can take advantage of marketing tools and special supplier offers to promote to their customers, VAX noted. Interested agents can participate by going to the Agent Resource Center within VAX and clicking Plan a Vacation Week.
