Cap Est Lagoon Resort & Spa Sets New Standard of Luxury

The Cap Est Lagoon Resort & Spa in Martinique, recently earned a fifth star validating its place among the finest hotels in the Caribbean.

The Relais & Châteaux property was judged anonymously by an independent inspection agency overseen by Le Comité Français d’Accréditation or French Accreditation Committee (COFRAC).

A total of 246 areas were inspected covering the resort's facilities, customer service, accessibility and sustainable environmental practices. Out of a maximum possible score of 289, Cap Est earned 276 points, one more than the minimum required to be awarded five-star status.

The fifth star designation marks the latest in a long line of accolades and awards for the exclusive resort. In February 2004, the property was named one of the 80 best new hotels in the world by Condé Nast Traveler.

Also in 2004, Cap Est was recognized as “Martinique’s Leading Hotel” at the 11th Annual World Travel Awards. With 50 deluxe ocean view suites (35 with private pools), attentive service, world-class cuisine and amenities, Cap Est expertly meets the needs of today’s most discerning travelers.
