Hawaiian Airlines to Launch Nonstop Maui-Oakland Flights

Hawaii's airlift scene is getting better and better: Starting in the New Year, Hawaiian Airlines will introduce nonstop service year-round to Maui from Oakland, with four flights offered weekly.

Starting Wednesday, January 11, 2012, Hawaiian Flight 24 will depart Maui’s Kahului Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 1:25 p.m. and arrive at Oakland International Airport at 8:25 p.m. Return Flight 23 will depart Oakland on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 8:10 a.m. and arrive at Maui at 11:40 a.m.

The new flight also gives Bay Area travelers more easy connections to Kona on Hawaii Island, as the airline is offering Kona-bound travelers the option of flying to Kona via Maui at no extra charge. Hawaiian also offers flight connections from Maui to Honolulu, Lihue, Kauai and Hilo on Hawaii Island at regular rates.

Hawaiian will service the Oakland – Maui flights using its wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 767-300 aircraft seating up to 264 passengers, with 18 seats in First Class and the remainder in Economy Class.

To celebrate its new Oakland–Maui service, Hawaiian is offering a special introductory roundtrip fare of $298.40 (plus applicable fees) for travel between January 11 and March 14, 2012. Tickets must be purchased by September 14.
