Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa Celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month

beach footprintHyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month with resort-wide offerings for the entire month of October. From pink-inspired refreshments and spa treatments to the resort’s first Stand-Up for Pink! paddle boarding event, Hyatt Regency Maui is partnering with Susan G. Komen: Hawaii and The Butterfly Effect to raise money to support Susan G. Komen’s mission of combating breast cancer. Breast Cancer Awareness Month events include:

Stand-Up for Pink! Paddle Boarding Event – Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 8 a.m.

-          In partnership with The Butterfly Effect, the resort will host their first and own interpretation of a “Walk for a Cure” – Maui-style – with a free-form, non-competitive paddle-boarding event inviting locals and guests to Stand-Up for Pink! in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Participants will paddle out from Hyatt Regency Maui’s beachfront on Kaanapali Beach to Black Rock and back. A celebration after party at Hyatt will include lunch for participants, breast cancer awareness education, and live entertainment. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation: Hawaii.

Japengo Restaurant – Woman Winemaker Dinner – Friday, October 25 at 6 p.m.

Woman Winemaker Dinner offers a multi-course meal highlighting the restaurant’s renowned Pacific Rim cuisine, paired perfectly with Palmina Wines, crafted by celebrated female winemaker Chrystal Clifton. Portion of proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen: Hawaii Chapter.

Throughout the month, Japengo will also be offering a special pupu combo of a glass of Seals’ Botasea Rosato di Palmina rose wine paired with sashimi style hamachi & watermelon with siracha tempura bits, tobiko, lychee pearls and emperor’s ponzu. Visit www.japengomaui.com for more information.

Random “Pink” Acts of Aloha – entire month of October

-          The staff at Hyatt Regency Maui honors random acts of kindness – Hawaiian style – with pink-themed acts for breast cancer awareness month. Random Acts of Aloha may include free pink balls at pool area, pop-up pool party with pink refreshments, free pink prizes, such as boogie boards and resort certificates, when guests demonstrate their hula skills.

Spa Moana Goes “Pink” – available the entire month of October

-          Feel renewed, inspired and pink with Spa Moana’s October spa menu. 10 percent of sales of the spa’s pink treatments will be donated to the Susan G. Komen: Hawaii. Featured treatments include: Pink Pohaku – smooth, warm stones and skilled hands that penetrate muscle layers and melts stress to bring mind and body to complete relaxation; Tickled Pink – feet and hands are transformed and rejuvenated after a bubble pink foot bath paired with a glass of pink sparkling wine for you to sip on, pink pomegranate scrub, a hydrating massage, and a rosy polish.

Umalu Restaurant “Pink” Menu – available the entire month of October

-          Pink themed menu items include: Pink Lady Smoothie featuring a strawberry blend infused with pomegranate; Pink Hawaiian Cocktail featuring ABSOLUT Hibiskus and pomegranate; Pink K-Fresh Chopped Salad with house made raspberry vinaigrette raspberry garnish and shaved pink radish. A portion of proceeds from the pink menu will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation: Hawaii.
