Maui Resort Refunds Guests' Baggage Fees

March 31, 2010 By: Jena Tesse Fox

The airlines may be charging passengers an arm and a leg to fly (well, maybe just an arm), but savvy hotels are turning the extra baggage fees to their favor. For example, in Hawaii, Western Maui’s Napili Kai Beach Resort is offering to pick up the tab for guests’ airline baggage fees.

For stays now through December 17, Napili Kai will deduct the cost of guests’ airline baggage fees off the total cost of their stay, up to a maximum of $125 per reservation. Guests must present their checked-baggage receipt upon check-in. This special offer is valid for a five-night minimum stay in selected room categories. The offer is for new bookings only and cannot be combined with any other special offers or discounts at the resort.

Families can also get a nice perk: The resort is also offering a Keiki Eat Free program. Keiki (children) age 12 and under will receive one free entree from the special keiki menu when accompanied by an adult who purchases a meal at equal or greater value. This is offered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the resort’s beachfront Sea House Restaurant. The Keiki Eat Free program is valid for resort guests only.

The Napali Kai Beach Resort is not just encouraging guests to stay awhile, it's refunding the cost of checked baggage fees for those who do.
