Mexico has a number of luxury hotels offering accommodations and amenities to please a range of travelers. Here are some of the most notable destinations you can send your clients who are looking to be pampered. 

Now Open: Hyatt Ziva Cancun

After undergoing an extensive $85 million expansion and renovation, the new Hyatt Ziva Cancun is now open. 

As originally reported by Luxury Travel Advisor's Joe Pike, The 547-suite all-inclusive property is owned by Playa Hotels & Resorts and is managed by Playa Resorts Management.

The resort lobby has a blend of contemporary design mixed with its original Mayan materials and themes. One side of the lobby’s décor has coral stone, while the opposite side showcases modern glass cubes wrapped in a matrix of latticework which is meant to resemble windswept driftwood.

Furnishings throughout the property are made using local woods and fabrics, and each of the resort’s guest suites offer views of the Caribbean, as Hyatt Ziva Cancun is surrounded by water on three sides. For technology, there is one touch lighting and guests can also enjoy a complimentary in-room refreshment bars, in-room dining service and in upper-category accommodations, as well as swim-up suites and private butler service. 

For dining, Hyatt Ziva has nine restaurants and six bars and lounges offering a range of cuisine, including a French brasserie, Italian cucina and an Asian-infused sushi and teriyaki restaurant. There is also a beachside taquería and ceviche bar. A sports bar multiple lounges serve up signature cocktails and expert mixologists.

Along with lagoon-style pools, swim-up bars, an adult-only pool and a fitness center for recreation, there is also a spa comprising 13 treatment rooms and an additional five palapas on the beach for massages.

Secrets The Vine Cancun Highlights its Wine Theme

Secrets The Vine Cancun, home to a 4,500-bottle wine cellar, celebrates the theme of wine in a variety of ways throughout the property.

Luxury Travel Advisor's Joe Pike recently visited the property, which has wine-themed paintings scattered around the resort, each guest room also comes with a bottle of wine native to Mexico. The property’s 13,000-square-foot Secrets Spa by Pevonia also incorporates wine into most of its treatments, using tropical ingredients, anti-aging elements and wine-infused therapies. 

All suites in the hotel are ocean view. Popular accommodations at the resort include the Preferred Club Junior Suite Ocean View rooms, complete with a king-sized bed, Italian porcelain floors, a separate sitting area, a bathroom with white glass and a private balcony with teak wood furnishings. There are also the Deluxe Ocean View rooms with amenities including a king-sized bed or two double beds and a private balcony. These rooms are ideal for families.

Guests of Secrets The Vine Cancun also receive a round of complimentary greens fees per person, per day at Playa Mujeres Golf Course. The Greg Norman signature 18-hole course has strategically placed holes that offer ocean and tropical views.

Dining options include Nebbiolo Ristorante serving Italian dishes, Blue Water Grill, the Sea Salt Grill and Olio, a Mediterranean style restaurant. 

El Dorado Maroma

Relaxation at El Dorado Maroma

El Dorado Maroma, located on Mexico’s Riviera Maya, is a boutique-size resort that offers the promise of relaxation to its guests. Luxury Travel Advisor's Ruthanne Terrero recently wrote about her visit to the property

Comprising just 99 rooms, guests must be at least 16 years of age or older to stay at the all-inclusive Karisma Resort

In keeping with the theme of relaxation, one of the resort’s pools sports cabana beds along with high-end lounge chairs and seating that actually is built into the pool. For added luxury, a “Pool Butler” keeps a fully accessible cart nearby stocked with complimentary suntan lotion, magazines, paperback books and other poolside amenities. Another pool situated outside clusters of rooms and closer to the beach offers a more traditional resort setting, with bossa nova music playing in the background and board games available to guests. 

The resort also has a spa, a fitness center with a steam room and sauna, and offers yoga each morning in front of a chapel that overlooks the beach.

El Dorado Maroma is designed with beach beds spread throughout the resort, where guests can choose their own private space, while hammocks are hidden amongst the trees and shrubbery around the property offering views of the water. There is also a his-and-hers spa “Sky Deck” perched on stilts overlooking the water.

Dining options include the Caribbean Grill, serving a menu of dishes such as “Beer battered catch of the day,” “Roasted Rock Cornish Hen,” “Braised Beef au Jus,” and “Coconut Shrimp and Roasted Pineapple.” Other dining options included Mexican, Peruvian and Asian-style restaurants. There is also Mio Cuccina Italiana, offering up fresh fish, pasta, tacos and a selection of wines.

Note: The resort’s “All-Inclusive Gourmet” offerings include meals, and come with room service, a welcome glass of champagne, a list of good Jackson Family wines, top shelf liquor brands, and tequila, mezcal, and wine tastings throughout the day. Free international calls and Wi-Fi are also included.

Accommodations at El Dorado Maroma include the Infinity Pool Jacuzzi Suite, complete with a sitting area and a balcony offering views of the pool, an indoor and outdoor shower, textured stonewalls and a hand-crafted showerhead shaped like a starfish. The Honeymoon Suite (No. 621) has a large terrace and a sunning bed, while options like the Garden Villas have their own pools. The Presidential Beachfront Villa (No. 908) has its own pool and is just steps from the beach. The resort also comprises new El Dorado Villas; eight one-bedroom, two-level villa residences which provide a home environment with kitchens and large living areas.

El Dorado Seaside Suites
Swim-ups Suites and a Spa at El Dorado Seaside Suites

El Dorado Seaside Suites officially opened during the last week of December, offering up swim-up and infinity suites and on of the largest spas in Riviera Maya. Joe Pike wrote about his visit to the property for Luxury Travel Advisor in January. 

The new build beachfront property situated near Mexico’s historic Tulum mayan ruins, has 192 swim-up and infinity suites, each with its own pool on a private terrace or balcony. It is located next to the former El Dorado Seaside Suites site (now Sensimar Seaside Suites) and is spread across nearly 80 acres. 

For accomodations, guests can choose from two room categories; Oceanfront Infinity Jacuzzi Suites and Oceanfront Swim-up Jacuzzi Suites. Each opetion includes a private terrace, outdoor day bed and a circular sofa, designed for two, that swivels 360 degrees. The resort is the only property in the region with infinity or swim-up pools on all six floors. 

Guests looking to experience one of the largest spas in the Riviera Maya can visit the Mayan-themed N’aay Spa, offering a full treatment menu including ancient holistic treatments, hydrotherapy, herbal therapy, facials, ice room, mud cabin and reflexology. There is also the spa’s signature Beachfront Sky Massage, where guests receive their treatment in total privacy on the beach in a palapa. 

In addition to 24-hour-in-room dining, the property offers 20 on-site dining and bar establishments, ranging from fine dining experiences and casual al fresco dining. Some options include Oceanfront Gourmet Corner which serves up sandwiches and salads in a lively seaside setting, and Mia Casa, an intimate contemporary Italian restaurant.
