The Los Cabos Tourism Board has announced it will host the third annual Los Cabos Open of Surf festival from June 9 -14.The annual event aims to “empower women and young surfers”, and welcomes participants from around the world to Zippers Beach along Costa Azul. This year, the festival will focus on a Qualifying Series (QS) 6000 women's division competition, as well as a co-ed pro junior event where participants will compete for prize money and points toward qualification on the World Championship Tour.
"Adding Pro Jr's to the QS6000 Women's event is going to give the spectators a really cool look at the future of our sport...” said Chris Cote, communications director and cultural ambassador for the Los Cabos Open of Surf. “The list of women coming down to compete in Los Cabos is amazing!”
This year's festival will also include a special live concert by Donnovan Frankenreiter, a popular artist among the surf community.
Cote, along with professional surfer, Anastasia Ashley, will again be hosting and documenting the event on their web series "How 2 Do Los Cabos".
The Los Cabos Open of Surf the largest festival of its kind in Mexico.
