Grupo Posadas is looking to take control of Mexico’s hotel competition by building 15 new properties in the country this year. Following the successful re-launch of Aqua Cancun, Grupo Posadas plans to keep the momentum going throughout the year. Here’s a peek at the major Mexico hotelier’s plans.
With a portfolio of 104 hotels and 19,042 guestrooms in 50 destinations throughout Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile, Grupo Posadas is making tremendous strides in the industry. After successfully launching seven new hotels in 2007, Posadas will open 15 new properties in 2008. Caesar Park Buenos Aires Obelisco is scheduled to debut this spring, and Aqua Bosques will open its doors to Mexico City this fall. In the business and economy categories, Posadas' Fiesta Inn and One Hotels look forward to 13 openings this year. The rest of the openings are Fiesta Inn Chetumal, Fiesta Inn Coatzacoalcos, Fiesta Inn Cuernavaca, Fiesta Inn Durango, Fiesta Inn Insurgentes, Fiesta Inn Morelia, Fiesta Inn Tepic, Fiesta Inn Toluca, One Acapulco, One Aguascalientes, One Culiacan, One Reynosa and One San Luis Potosi.
