New Passenger Ship Service Between Mazatlan and La Paz

Shipping company Baja Ferries has expanded its La Paz-Mazatlan Route by launching the new passenger and cargo ship Low Star.

There is also a new tourist route between La Paz, Baja California Sur to Mazatlan on the new Baja Star. This ship will transport up to 700 passengers and travel between the two destinations in about 12 hours.

Guests sailing on the Baja Star will have access to modern facilities and amenities.

Baja Ferries has invested 230 million pesos into the project, as it works to expand the service to up to 10,600 passengers per month, tripling its passenger capacity to Mazatlan. Currently, the Mazatlan / La Paz route is operated by Baja Ferries and the Peace Star.

Family-Friendly Experiences in Puerto Vallarta

Families can spend the day at a traditional Mexican ranch in the Puerto Vallarta area. Kids and parents alike will be able to interact with locals in the small town and will have a chance to immerse themselves in local customs and traditions. Some ranchers also offer tours on horseback, tours by motorbike or a chance to hike through the surrounding area. Everyone in the family will also enjoy Mexican delicacies prepared at the ranch where the dishes are often cooked in traditional Mexican kitchens. For families that love sea life, there is an opportunity to swim with wild bottlenose dolphins in Puerto Vallarta. Wildlife Connection has tours year-round that will take guests up close to wild dolphins. The tours are lead by professional biologists and they can explain details about the animals during the tour. (There is even a hydrophone on board, so guests can hear the dolphins communicate.) The tour will take small groups close to pods of dolphins, though it is not guaranteed that travelers will be able to swim with the animals because they are not captive.
