Ritz-Carlton Plans to Open in Mexico City

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has announced plans to open its first hotel in Mexico City in 2019. The hotel will have 153 rooms and will be managed by Thor Urbana Capital and Heldan Hotels & Resorts

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Thor Urbana Capital and Heldan Hotels & Resorts to expand our presence in the Caribbean and Latin America, particularly in Mexico City - an epicenter of commerce and culture," said Herve Humler, president and chief operations officer for The Ritz-Carlton. 

This upcoming hotel will be part of the Chapultepec Uno mixed use project, in the center of the city's financial district. Once the project is completed, it will have 58 floors and 1.1 million square feet of space. The Ritz-Carlton, Mexico City will have floors 36 to 47 with views of Chapultepec Park. 

The Ritz-Carlton also plans to open other properties in the region, including Panama City, Panama in 2016 and Los Cabos, Mexico in 2017.
