One might hear that Sandos Hotels & Resorts is operating in Mexico and mistakenly think, “Sandals is in Mexico?” True, the name can lead to confusion since Sandals Resorts, the mega-resort company in the Caribbean, shares the first four letters of this Spanish based company, but Sandos is doing everything in it power to erase any existing identity crisis.
At a recent Caribbean Marketplace 2008 press conference, which Travel Agent was on hand for, representatives of Sandos told media about a major step Sandos is taking.
Sandos Hotels & Resorts, which currently has three properties on the Riviera Maya, Mexico, is adding the all-inclusive Sandos Playacar Riviera Hotel & Spa, which is set to welcome guests in the spring. The new property, currently under construction next to the Sandos Playacar Beach Resort and Spa, will be comprised of 400 junior and master luxury suites overlooking the 18-hole Playacar Golf Course.
