Small Luxury Hotels of the World Expands Portfolio in Mexico

This September, Small Luxury Hotels of the World (or SLH for short) welcomes three new properties in Mexico to its portfolio of boutique luxury hotels. Stara HamburgoStara San Angel Inn and Chablé Spa & Resort join alongside seven other SLH properties in Mexico. Presently, SLH has a collection of over 520 hotels in more than 80 countries, where they match independently minded guests with independently spirited hotels.

Located between the Zona Rosa and Zona Financiera in Mexico CityStara Hamburgo recently opened in January of 2016. The historic, nineteenth-century Spanish mansion on the outside offers a boutique, contemporary hotel property on the inside. 60 rooms and suites offer intelligent features like acoustic screens to help ensure guests sleep soundly, in addition to private balconies with views of the city or gardens. The hotels prime location offers easy access to explore the grand cathedrals and Aztec ruins that Mexico’s capital is home to. The Roof Garden Restaurant hosts a menu of inventive international and Mexican cuisine and provides panoramic views of the city streets. To get out of the city, SLH’s new Chablé Spa & Resort offers guests 750 acres of Mexico’s famed Yucatan Peninsula. Having only opened its doors in November of 2015, the hotel boasts the newest and most modern amenities located within the heart of the Mayan forest, featuring 38 stand-alone pool villas with outdoor showers, hammocks and large outdoor living rooms. The hotel’s two restaurants serve organic, seasonal cuisine sourced directly from the property’s on-site gardens. For drinks, the wine cellar is home to exclusive vintages, and is available for private, romantic dinners. The resort also features an expansive wine cellar showcasing the largest, private tequila collection in the world.
