Spring Break Returns to Acapulco

Spring Break is back! The Acapulco Destination Marketing Office and the Secretary of Tourism for the State of Guerrero have teamed up with StudentCity, a tour operator specializing in high school and college student travel.

"While Acapulco has faced several challenges over the past two years, we believe that the new tourism initiatives put into action by the State of Guerrero, coupled with our partnership with StudentCity, will help us grow this market segment in 2013," Pedro Haces Sordo, president of the Acapulco Destination Marketing Office, said in a statement. "Our commitment is and always has been to the traveler. The implementation of numerous safety programs throughout the city, as well as an over $1 billion investment to restore the 'traditional zone' of Acapulco are just a few examples of how the destination is attempting to rebuild our image. 

Some of the initiatives taken under the partnership will consist of e-newsletter blasts to the StudentCity's database of colleges and universities; social media integration and sweepstakes offering the chance to win a free vacation in Acapulco; FAM trips; and more.
