Thompson Hotels Opens The Cape in Los Cabos

The Cape

Thompson Hotels has opened its first property in Cabo San Lucas named The Cape. Located alongside Monuments Beach, the resort has pristine views of The Arch

Guests have access to two pools on the property. The first pool includes a swim-up bar and the other is made of natural rock formations. The Cape also boasts the only rooftop lounge in Cabo San Lucas, which sits on the sixth story. Other touches include a spa with private outdoor cabanas and a fitness center with floor-to-celling windows.

Vertex Real Estate Investors and Pentz & Partners with Commune Hotels & Resorts own the new hotel.

“The unveiling of this luxury property marks Thompson’s entry into the Mexican market, an exciting evolution in the international expansion of the brand,” said Niki Leondakis, CEO of Commune Hotels & Resorts, the hotel company that manages Thompson Hotels. “As our first Thompson resort property, The Cape embodies the brand’s iconic urban edge, while also organically integrating the breathtaking scenery and carefree luxury unique to the Los Cabos destination.”

As for the design of the new resort the architect, Javier Sánchez of JSa Arquitectura saw a seamless transition for the indoor and outdoor space. The hotel has a very open air feel and draws off the natural environment. Interior designer Marisabel Gómez Vázquez added a sleek, modern design with touches like a whale sculpture created from driftwood. The Cape offers guests the choice between one-, two- or three-bedroom suites or villas.
