We know Millennials are always seeking out the hottest rooftop bars, well we definitely have one for you.
Last month we met with Julian Smaldoni, general manager of the just-opened Thompson Playa del Carmen, and got the scoop on how posh this spot is going to be.
Thompson Playa del Carmen, a 92-room boutique resort, is now accepting reservations on La Quinta Avenida and Calle 12. Also, situated nearby is the hotel’s more intimate property, the Beach House, which will welcome guests in early 2016.
“We want [the hotel] to blend in, and let our guests experience the destination as local,” Smaldoni said. “It is going to be the first hotel of its kind in the area, and will be the highest point in Playa del Carmen.”
But the real gem of this property is going to be its 30,000 square foot rooftop deck and bar, where guests will enjoy 360 degree ocean and city views, an infinity pool, private cabanas with space for up to 20 people, underwater living rooms, and multiple dining options.
This rooftop oasis will also feature Catch, an offshoot of New York City’s meatpacking district venue, offering contemporary renditions of classic seafood dishes and a variety of unique dining experiences, as well as an open kitchen and lively sushi bar that will further compliment the restaurant’s invigorating atmosphere.
In addition, the property’s first two floors will be designated entirely for shopping and nightlife, with 40 shops including names like Michael Kors and Swarovski.
Thompson Playa del Carmen is situated 35 miles from Cancun, and will be easily accessible through Cancun International Airport.
