According to a CNN report, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, is advising U.S. travelers who return from Mexico with at least two of the H1N1 virus symptoms to stay at home and avoid public places. Symptoms of H1N1, also known as H1N1 flu, can include a fever, sore throat, cough, chills, headaches and runny nose. People with symptoms should report to a health care provider or local health department and provide itinerary details and symptoms, according to the CDC.
If infected, the flu is contagious for up to seven days. People who aren't sick should continue to work and use normal precautions like washing hands.. They should monitor their health for seven days.
On Thursday, the World Health Organization reported 236 cases of H1N1 flu worldwide. In the U.S., the CDC said it confirmed 109 cases in 11 states, an increase of 18 from its previous total.
