From a new adults-only area at Hyatt Ziva Cancun to a new brand by AIC Hotel Group, there have been a number of recent developments in Mexico all-inclusive. Here’s the latest.

Hyatt Ziva Cancun recently rolled out Turquoize, a new, adults-only “resort within a resort” area. Travel Agent’s David Moseder reports that the area has 270-degree ocean views, butler service, price airport transfers and a VIP check-in and reception area. Accommodation options range from Turquoize-exclusive beachfront suites with oversized balconies and hot tubs to Turquoize Sky Swim-Up Oceanfront Master Suites, which have a pool off the balcony. Both types of suites have ocean views and floor-to-ceiling corner rainfall showers.

Other amenities include a rooftop infinity pool and private rooftop bar, Punta Vista, exclusively for Turquoize guests, plus preferred seating at the Tradewinds fine dining oceanfront restaurant. There’s also private elevator to the Zen Spa, where guests get a free hydrotherapy circuit. Turquoize guests have full privileges at Hyatt Ziva Cancun’s sibling property, the adults-only Hyatt Zilara Cancun

According to Luxury Travel Advisor’s Joe Pike, the brand’s first hotel, Unico Hotel Riviera Maya - 20ºN 87ºW, is slated to open in the first quarter of 2017 with a focus on a Millennial clientele, particularly couples. The Villa 20° 87°, which has two bedrooms and a living room, is said to be a good fit for two couples traveling together.

90 percent of the property’s accommodations have ocean views, and all of the rooms on the first floor have semi-private exterior pools. Rooms on the second through fifth floors have a double hydro spa tub.

In terms of amenities there will be an 18-room spa with two Couples Suites, six Couple Cabins and 10 Single Cabins that can be booked either through the hotel’s private butler service or mobile app. Guests can also check out an in-room gallery with art to purchase from local artists, an “Experience Room” that allows guests to select their own beach gear and in-room amenities from local craftsmen, and access to the nearby golf course at the Hard Rock Golf Club Riviera Maya

Dining options will range from an onsite distillery or brewery with a focus on local flavors to an annual rotating chef restaurant concept.
