Renaissance New York Times Square Redesigns Bar, Guest Rooms

The Renaissance New York Times Square has revealed the new design of R lounge, its signature bar overlooking Times Square, as well as seven newly designed guest rooms, which each include private outdoor terraces.

The new designs are by Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, Principal Designer at BNO Design in New York City. He has created a space in which each area has its own unique feel, similar to Times Square where every block is different.

R Lounge

The newly designed R Lounge will include floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides and will have a great view of Times Square. Classic cocktails, signature cocktails and food will be served from the chef’s lounge menu.

The new design is open-concept, offering a clear line of vision through the space to the windows. There will be a blend of organic furnishings and vintage worn pieces. The space includes a large book tower, stone stools and a chair made of used T-Shirts. There will be a new feature to the restaurant, which is a glass terrace with seating overlooking Seventh Avenue. Inside the lounge there will be several nooks for private seating. Finally, a flock of sculptured sheep will be incorporated throughout the lounge as well as on the new terraces.

Terrace Guest Rooms

There are now seven newly designed terrace rooms on the hotels 4th floor. The room is white with a complementing grey cement wall. There is a sink area outside the bathroom, which also doubles as a bar. The window treatments are yellow to remind guests of the city’s yellow cabs. Each room has a private outdoor terrace with east and south views and includes sculptures of sheep.
