Study Finds Multigenerational Travel Up

Almost half of grandparents have traveled with their grandchildren and children, according to a study conduced by Opinion Research's Caravan and released by the Orlando/Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau. This represents a 12 percent increase as compared to the results of a similar study conducted in 2000. In addition, 28 percent of grandparents rated Orlando as their favorite travel destination with their grandkids, over the likes of New York and Washington, D.C. The AARP says that the average age now of first-time grandparents is only 48, with a desire to travel and money to spend.
