Abercrombie & Kent has announced its lineup of itineraries for fall 2015 and 2016, including the company's return to Nepal.
The move comes as other tour operators have announced plans to resume travel in the country following a devastating earthquake in April, including Tauck and Intrepid Travel.
Starting this September, Abercrombie & Kent will reintroduce Bhutan & Nepal: Heart of the Himalaya, which had been put on hold following the earthquake.
“After careful consideration and an exploratory trip that allowed us to determine the safety and level of standards available, we made some adjustments to our current itinerary and are happy to say that A&K will be returning to Nepal this fall,” said Abercrombie & Kent President Phil Otterson. “We have seen the positive effects tourism has had in helping communities rebuild after natural disasters and look forward to once again introducing travellers to this beautiful country and its people.”
In 2016 Abercrombie & Kent will also include Nepal on a program that combines land itineraries with river cruising, India & Nepal: The Taj Mahal, Mt. Everest and a Ganges River Cruise. Other offerings in this program are Cruising the Mekong: Siam, Saigon & Angkor Wat and Amazon Adventure: Rainforest and River Cruise.
