Fresh off a series of renovations that includes a new $10.5 million spa and a new restaurant, Woodstock Inn & Resort in Vermont is offering travel agents a special mid-week $129 per night rate to let agents check out the resort during its peak summer and fall season. Travel Agent spoke with Director of Sales Courtney Lowe for the details.

“Fall is an event in itself,” said Lowe. “There’s so many different little things throughout the area.”

The town of Woodstock offers live music regularly. Nearby is the Billings Farm & Museum, a working dairy farm that offers special events throughout the fall, including hayrides, milking lessons and a quilt show. The Inn is set on 3000 acres of land with hiking trails just minutes form the main building for guests who wish to view Vermont’s famous fall foliage, and a half mile away is the Robert Trent Jones, Sr.-designed Woodstock Inn & Resort Golf Club, which was named one of the world’s top 100 golf resorts by Golf Magazine.

The spa, which opened two years ago, has 10 treatment rooms, a bridal suite and locally sourced products. The spa offers massages and body treatments, skin care, bridal services, manicures and pedicures, hair styling, makeup and waxing and day packages. The property also has a 40,000 square foot racquet and fitness club with indoor pools, hot tubs, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, exercise classes, racquetball, personal training and an official croquet court.

Who to Sell To

“We seem to be expanding our age range, which is a good thing,” said Lowe. “It was by design but it seems to be happening naturally too.”

The Inn’s clientele can range within 35 to 75 years old, with the bulk of them falling within the 40-65 range.

“We tend to get more couples in the fall,” said Lowe. “I would say it’s a little bit older at that time, more likely because those people have more discretionary time to go midweek or weekend. Summer is a mix of everything- families, couples, etc. Winter, ski weekends and holiday weeks are very heavy on the families.”

The resort draws travelers mostly from the Boston and New York metro areas, but about 15 to 20 percent fly in, Lowe continued. The closest airport is Lebanon, New Hampshire (LEB), which is 20 minutes away.

The special travel agent rate is available until September 27. To book, agents should call 866-915-7883 and give their IATA number.
