Ragged Mountain Resort in New Hampshire Invests $1 Million Into Improvements and SnowmakingSeptember 6, 2012 By: Newswire
Ragged Mountain Resort, a ski and golf resort located in Danbury, New Hampshire, is putting in more than $1 million to upgrade snowmaking for the upcoming winter season.
Improvements include a hundred low-energy and high-efficiency tower snow guns. Half of those guns will be part of an automated snowmaking system on the Exhibition trail. This will allow snowmakers to take advantage of shorter windows of snowmaking temperatures.
There will also be five new fan guns, plus a new pump that will push 25 percent more water on both the Ragged and Spear peaks.
"Over the past two seasons, we’ve invested more than $2 million into snowmaking upgrades. As we begin our future expansion and development, we understand how important a state-of-the-art snowmaking and lift system is for our customers and our success," said Bob Ashton, President of Ragged Mountain Resort.
Season passes are currently on sale, with prices starting at $419. The resort is offering benefits for those who purchase any day passes by October 8, 2012, including vouchers for four friends and family vouchers with rates starting at $39 midweek and $49 on weekends and holidays. In addition, two free vouchers to learn to ski or ride that are only valid Sunday to Friday for ages 13 and up.
Save up to ten percent at Learning Center and Sport Thoma Retail Shop, which sells the latest ski and snowboard equipment and clothing. Ski binding checks are only $5 and one complimentary demonstration will be offered at the rental shop for pass holders.
With New Hampshire's only high-speed six pack chairlift, guests can ski and ride on two mountain peaks at 8 a.m. on weekends and holidays. $20 flamingo bucks are available to current pass holders who sign up a friend. The Ragged Mountain Resort is scheduled to open on Saturday, November 24, 2012.
