Tunisia Helps Visitors Map Their Holiday

Tunisia National Tourism Office has scored a first by creating a website that uses Google Maps API to allow visitors to create personal itineraries. The idea is to provide visitors the opportunity to approach a travel agent with a printed map of their plan. This would allow agents a heads up on making the perfect booking for their clients.

The site will also allow visitors to share their plans with friends via e-mail or through posts on social media sites.

This step toward making the planning of a trip “more communal and enjoyable,” is part of the tourism department’s plan to highlight Tunisia’s culture and diversity and showcase the country as more than just a winter-sun destination.
