Aqua Hotels to Take Over Maile Sky Court

November 13, 2009 By: Jena Tesse Fox

Aqua Hotels & Resorts will assume management of Hawaii's 596-room Maile Sky Court Hotel on December 1. The 44-story hotel is located at 2058 Kuhio Avenue on the western end of Waikiki, offering views of the Pacific Ocean and Waikiki.
The addition of Maile Sky Court increases Aqua’s Waikiki inventory to 14 hotels and its overall portfolio to 17 properties on Oahu, Kauai, Maui and Molokai.
“The owner of the hotel is looking forward to working with Aqua who was selected because of their consistent ability to outperform their competition,” said Ron Watanabe, the hotel’s asset manager. “In the past two years we have invested $2.5 million to upgrade the elevators, various fixtures and equipment...The owners were also pleased Aqua agreed with their request to rehire all of the hotel employees, thus insuring the smooth transition of management and operations.”
“The reasonable price-point is positioned perfectly for Aqua’s Lite brand,” added Elizabeth Churchill, Aqua’s VP Sales & Marketing. “The additional 596-room inventory provides opportunities for Aqua to expand various market segments.  There will be no interruption of service. Castle Hotels & Resorts, the current manager of the hotel, has been very helpful as we work together to transition on-book and future reservations over to Aqua.”
Effective December 1, the new email address for reservations at Maile Sky Court will be [email protected].
