The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) and the National Football League (NFL) have reached a tentative agreement that will bring the Pro Bowl back to Hawaii’s Aloha Stadium in 2011 and 2012.  The Pro Bowl had been held at Waikiki’s Aloha Stadium for 29 years, but this streak was broken when the Pro Bowl moved to Dolphin Stadium in Miami in 2009. While Hawaii bemoaned the loss of cash from the event, the State also missed the Pro Bowl’s first rate job of marketing Hawaii with abundant visuals and destination coverage. Details of the contract between HTA and the NFL are still being finalized. The two-year deal will cost HTA $4 million per game and an additional $145,000 for the stadium game day operations in 2011. In 2012, there is a five percent escalation for the stadium operations ($152,250).
