Celebrity Cruises is celebrating the summer solstice by announcing a plan to revitalize three of its Millennium-class ships: the Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Summit and Celebrity Millennium. This renovation, which Celebrity has dubbed “Solsticizing,” brings popular amenities from their Solstice-class ships to the Millennium class.

“This is an incredibly exciting initiative for us – and more importantly, for our guests, as indicated by their response to our already-Solsticized Celebrity Constellation, whose ratings are consistently through the roof,” said Dan Hanrahan, Celebrity’s president and CEO. “The Millennium Class ships already have a large and loyal following, having repeatedly ranked at the top of many of the world’s most prestigious consumer surveys. Their style, design and ambience served as significant inspiration for the design of the Solstice Class, and now, we’re bringing it full circle – and in just two years’ time – incorporating on the entire Millennium Class what our guests enjoy most on the Solstice Class. It ties the whole fleet together in a very powerful way.”

One of the most prominent Solstice amenities coming to the Millennium ships is the AquaClass. These luxurious staterooms feature private verandas, exclusive access to the specialty restaurant Blu, complimentary access to the Persian Garden and Relaxation Room in the AquaSpa, a personal Spa Concierge and the use of plush Frette bathrobes and slippers. In-room amenities include Hansgrohe shower heads, fog-free bathroom mirrors, aromatherapy selections and daily deliveries of complimentary bottled water and teas.

Qsine, the novel restaurant that debuted on the Solstice-class Celebrity Eclipse, will also find its way to the Millennium-class vessels. The restaurant serves classic and contemporary dishes in custom-made serveware, such as spring rolls served in vertical springs and popcorn shrimp in movie theater-style popcorn boxes. Qsine is also the first restaurant at sea to present a menu and wine list on an iPad.

Other amenities coming to the Millennium-class ships include the Celebrity iLounge, the ice-topped Martini Bar and Crush, the creperie Bistro on Five, the Café al Bacio and Gelateria, the Cellarmasters wine bar, new verandas for the Celebrity Suites, additional oceanview and inside staterooms and an expanded collection of original, contemporary art.

The Celebrity Infinity is scheduled to complete renovations on December 3, 2011. The Celebrity Summit is scheduled to finish in January 2012, and the Celebrity Millennium will undergo renovations from April 21, 2012 to May 12, 2012.
