MSC Offers Free Airfare From West Coast Cities

The line is offering travelers flying from select West Coast cities air-inclusive fares for the 10-night Caribbean cruises departing Dec. 4 and Jan. 9 on MSC Lirica from Fort Lauderdale. Cruise/air rates per person begin at $949 for an interior stateroom ($1,099 for an oceanview room) for the January sailing and $999 for the December departure. The following cities are part of the deal: Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle. Transfers cost extra.

The MSC Lirica cruises call at San Juan, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Antigua, Tortola and Cayo Levantado, Dominican Republic.

CARNIVAL Sets Discounts For Those Who Have Served

In honor of Veterans Day, active and retired military personnel can save on 2008 vacations with Carnival Cruise Lines (www.carnival.com) booked in November. Those eligible may book up to three staterooms for themselves, family and friends at rates starting as low as $189 per person.

The Feb. 27 departure of a 10-day Noordam cruise out of New York is priced from $1,049 per person. Ports of call include Grand Turk, Tortola, St. Martin, St. Thomas and San Juan. Another promotion applies to two sailings of the Zuiderdam. Seven-day trips departing Jan. 5 and Jan. 12 from Fort Lauderdale start at $599. The cruises call at Grand Turk, San Juan (replaced with Tortola for the later sailing), St. Thomas and Half Moon Cay, Holland America's private island in the Bahamas.
