Discovery Cruise Line, which offers ferry service with cruise line amenities between South Florida and Grand Bahama Island every day of the week except Wednesdays, has announced substantially reduced fares for January and February.
"Everywhere you look, consumers are faced with financial and economic stress both personal and in their business lives," said Hanns J. Hahn, general manager of Discovery. Everyone is fed up...we're fed up too."
Discovery is lowering its prices and taken to calling them "Fed Up Fares." Effective January 5, the line is eliminating all service charges, all fuel surcharges and all cruise line service fees. There will be no extra cruise charges, only the Bahamas departure and harbour fees.
Also, effective January 5 and running through February 28, 2009, the price of a Fun Day Cruise will be from as low as $29.99 per person; the price of a two-day Cruise N Stay Vacation will be from $49.99 per person; the price of a three-day Cruise N Stay Vacation will be from $74.99 per person; and the price of a four-day Cruise N Stay Vacation will be from $99.99 per person.
Discovery's amenities include a casino, live entertainment and a Kid's Club. The price of the cruise includes two all-you-can-eat buffet meals. Optional dining includes the Grand Bahama Grill's Champagne breakfast and its new lunch menu.
