Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ HANSEATIC has returned to the sea after undergoing renovations, including refurbishments of the suites. In addition to replacing all of the cabin windows, the bathrooms in the suites were rebuilt to include separate bathtubs and showers, new marble walls were installed, and granite floors were added. The onboard hair salon has also been restyled into what Hapag-Lloyd calls their “cosmetics studio.”
Following the HANSEATIC’s return to the sea, it will be offering several bilingual cruises in both English and German. The Destination Antarctica cruise leaves Ushuaia, Argentina on February 13, arriving in Puerto Montt, Chile on March 5, 2010. The 21-day cruise includes stops in the
Falkland Islands, South Georgia, the South Orkney Islands, and the Antarctic Peninsula.
Rates start at $13, 750 per person. As a special deal, passengers booking a “category 1 cabin” in advance will be upgraded to a “category 3 cabin.” All guests receive a 300 Euro credit for beverages and laundry.
Hapag-Lloyd’s “Legendary Northwest Passage” Cruise starts in Kangerlussuag, Greenland on August 16 arriving in Nome, Alaska March 5, 2010. This 25-day cruise stops in Greenland, Baffin Island, Devon Island, the Barrow Strait, the Northwest Passage, and Alaska. Cruise rates start at $21,000 per person.
“Destination Kamchatka” begins in Nome, Alaska on September 9 and arrives in Yokohama, Japan September 30, 2010. Stops along the way include Alaska, the Chukchi Peninsula, Chukotka, Kamtchatka, the Kuril Islands, Sakhalin, and Japan. Rates start at $12,240 per person.
