Oceania Cruises will release "The Oceania Cruises Art Collection," a comprehensive catalogue of the art and artists onboard Marina and Riviera. The cruise line has more than 2,000 works on its mid-size ships.
The 205-page book showcases images of the renowned works in the collection as well as artist biographies and the story of how Oceania Cruises founders Frank J. Del Rio and Bob Binder collected the artworks.
"The Oceania Cruises Art Collection not only showcases the artwork but also enhances appreciation by telling the stories of the artists, their passions and their inspiration," said Del Rio, chairman and CEO of Prestige Cruise Holdings, the parent company of Oceania Cruises.
Del Rio and Binder traveled the world to acquire an art collection over a period of years, from artists like Picasso and Miró to the modern art of Robert Mars and Damien Hirst to emerging artists such as Li Domínguez Fong and Carlos Luna. The collection includes a wide array of celebrated Cuban artists such as Wifredo Lam, Cundo Bermúdez and René Portocarrero.
The Oceania Cruises Art Collection is available on www.Amazon.com and at www.OceaniaBookCollection.com. The catalogue will be available for purchase onboard Regatta by the end of September 2013 and the rest of the fleet by mid-November
