Oceania Cruises will launch its largest sales promotion in the line's history on January 7, with savings of up to 72 percent on select sailings. The sales event comes on the heels of Oceania's fifth anniversary.
The "Celebration of Savings" will offer additional bonus savings off existing two-for-one cruise fares. Bob Binder, president of Oceania Cruises, signaled that the future may continue to see cheaper rates. "Moving into 2009," he said, "we want to offer our guests enhanced value and lower cruise fares, and for our agent partners to reap greater rewards for all of their support over the past five years."
With free airfare from 20 North American cities and the aforementioned bonus savings, Oceania says it "will represent the greatest vacation value ever."
Other upmarket lines have also been introducing further savings to consumers. Seabourn announced savings of up to 60 percent on a host of sumer 2009 cruises, and is now offering savings of $1,500 per couple toward private shore excursions on most 2009 European voyages.
Luxury colleague Silversea has begun offering North American travelers complimentary roundtrip economy air transportation from Montreal, New York, Miami and 24 additional eastern cities on 16 new voyages to Europe and the Mediterranean next summer. In total, 28 voyages in 2009 offer the special free airfare incentive. The special air incentives are being offered for a limited time on new bookings made on or before March 31, 2009.
Crystal Cruises is initiating its most aggressive promotional offer to date. When guests sail on any 2009 Europe, transatlantic or Crystal Symphony Asia cruise, they are guaranteed 20 percent savings on almost every cruise in every category in 2010. The 2009 cruise must be booked by March 31, and the 2010 cruise must be booked by November 30, 2009.
