Report: Filling Seabourn Odyssey Tougher Than Expected

February 26, 2009 By: David Eisen

Seabourn

Further proving that the foundering economy is affecting the wealthy, USA TODAY's Gene Sloan writes in his cruise blog that Seabourn still has vacant cabins for its inaugural Seabourn Odyssey sailing in four months. A spokesperson for Seabourn told USA TODAY that there are still 20 cabins available for the cruise. This amounts to nearly 10 percent of the rooms on the 450-passenger ship. The spokesperson further says space is available in categories including A, A1, V4, V5 and V6. There also is one Wintergarden Suite and one Owners suite available.

Previous reports had stated that there was a waiting list for the ship, but this was before the crippling economic hardship, which forced many to cancel. The maiden voyage begins June 24 in Venice and ends in Istanbul with ports of call including Dubrovnik and Kotor.
