Royal Caribbean Trots Out 2010 Alaska Schedule

March 19, 2009 By: David Eisen

Did you know that as many as two films and one show—"Insomnia," "30 Days of Night," "Northern Exposure"—that claim to take place in Alaska and are about Alaska were actually shot outside of Alaska? Doesn't seem right, right? Well, we want you to know that Royal Caribbean's 2010 Alaska sailing season will actually take place over Alaskan waters.

The line has announced 37 sailings for the season, ranging from seven to 14 nights aboard Radiance of the Seas and Rhapsody of the Seas. Departure points include San Diego, Seattle, Seward and Vancouver. This is Royal Caribbean's 21st consecutive season in Alaska and bookings are now open.

Radiance of the Seas will call at Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Icy Strait Point; the ship will also offer two special "Ultimate Alaska" itineraries, a 13-nighter from San Diego to Vancouver on May 18, featuring a call at Nanaimo, British Columbia, and a 14-night voyage sailing in the reverse direction September 10.

Rhapsody of the Seas will offer a seven-night roundtrip itinerary, sailing from Seattle and plying the Inside Passage with calls in Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, British Columbia.
