What's In a Name? Disney Cruise Line Answers

TA1708C01_240

Disney can add two more names to its long roster of characters. Its two ships joining the fleet in 2011 and 2012 will be named Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, respectively. As much as we like the names, why couldn't they have gone for Disney Fantasia? We say drop the y and add the ia, but that's just us!

The announcement was made by the head mouse himself, Robert Iger, president and CEO of Disney Cruise Ships

We're told that both ships will be quite similar to Disney's existing ships, Wonder and Magic (Quiet Cove area, check!).

The ships are already on the assembly line at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany (it's a small world after all). The new ships will be purpose built with families in mind, and specially designed areas and activities for each member of the family.

Make Way: The expansion will more than double the passenger capacity for Disney Cruise Line.
