Travel Leaders Group has established Travel Leaders UK with a new headquarters in London’s Covent Gardens area.

The new entity is a combination of two of the company’s largest United Kingdom (UK) businesses – Protravel International UK and Tzell UK. Together those two brands have more than 60 independent travel agents and have a combined annual sales volume of $66 million.

Moving forward, Protravel’s Tina Rose has been appointed managing director of the Travel Leaders UK operation, while Tzell UK’s Barry Whittaker has been named executive director of business development and acquisitions. Both will report directly to Travel Leaders Group chief executive officer Barry Liben.

Travel Leaders Group, which also includes such brands as Cruise Holidays, Vacation.com and the flagship Travel Leaders, will use London as its base of expansion into the UK. Since its inception in 2008, Travel Leaders Group has grown from more than $5 billion in annual sales to over $20 billion last year.

“Bringing Protravel and Tzell together in new London headquarters is the first step on an aggressive expansion plan in the UK and Europe,” said Liben. “These businesses complement each other very well, which is good news for our clients, agents and suppliers. The objective is to replicate the success of our US business on this side of the Atlantic.”

Liben also said he expects the growth to be both organic and through acquisition and it's working to attract agents and agencies to its business by demonstrating its approach for how it’s grown so dramatically. In addition, he praised Tina Rose and Barry Whittaker for their leadership skills and understanding of the travel marketplace.
