Kempinski Announces First Myanmar Hotel

Kempinski Hotels has announced the upcoming opening date of its first Myanmar property, the Kempinski Hotel Nay Pyi Taw. The hotel has started to accept reservations for stays as of November 1 2014. The 141 room hotel will open its doors in time for the first ASEAN Summit to be held in the country.

The property will be spread over four villas and encompass 141 rooms and suites, including the 1000 square meter grand royal suite, the largest suite in the country. Rooms will have high ceilings and garden views alongside iPad controlled internal room features. The hotel will offer complimentary wireless Internet access to its guests.

There will be a total of five restaurants and bars that will mix local flavor with a European edge. Corporate clients will enjoy the six meeting rooms and the Kispanadi Ballroom which can accommodate up to 400 guests for a variety of private and business-related functions. A full-service business center addresses any business or secretarial needs. Leisure facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and fitness center. Kempinski the Spa will be added in 2015.

A total of five restaurants and bars will feature local ingredients and flavors complemented by European culinary tradition. 

The hotel will also feature a teakwood Royal Pavilion inspired by the architecture of the early Kone Baung dynasty of the 18th century. In ancient times, pavilions in Myanmar were the welcoming lounges of palaces and provided relaxation for visiting diplomats, kings and royalty.

Guests will also be able to take advantage of the property’s fleet of BMWs to explore the city.

To celebrate the opening the hotel is offering an introductory rate from $180 for a Premier suite until December 31, 2014, subject to availability and advance booking.
