In Seattle, two popular hotels debut recent makeovers

In Seattle, the Alexis Hotel (www.alexishotel.com) recently unveiled the fruits of its $10 million renovation, done so that the 106-year-old hotel resembles an art gallery and maintains the hotel’s artistic roots. As always, the Kimpton property features original artwork and seasonal art exhibits throughout its walls, but now features 10 distinct room types, with amenities that range from private living rooms to suites with wood-burning fireplaces (a Premier Suite is pictured here). In addition, hotel also features a golf simulator, which is said to provide realistic golf experiences from 50 of the world’s top golf courses. Options include Kapalua, Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, St. Andrews and Torrey Pines. “Our director of golf offers private lessons, custom course designs for single players and tournament play for groups and corporate events,” says General Manager Frank Welton, who can be reached at 206-246-8600.
