Panama Promotion is Rising

For a destination that doesn’t even have public relations representation in the U.S, promotion for Panama has been pretty hot lately, from its inclusion in Funjet Vacations' portfolio to new public relations efforts to market the country’s little known Pearl Island.

Public relations firm PRCo recently announced that it is representing Pearl Island, a serene Pacific island that is being sensitively transformed into a luxurious five-star sustainable hideaway. One of the few remaining untouched havens in the world, Pearl Island offers the chance to live a perfect private island existence complemented by a range of fully managed services.

Leading luxury resort investor and developer Dolphin Capital Investors are working together with Panamanian based Grupo Eleta to deliver a low density, premium luxury, sustainable real estate and leisure development. Just an hour by boat from the buzzing Panama City, offering 14 private sandy beaches, Pearl Island represents probably the largest luxury private island development in Central America. Roughly 75 percent of this historic 6,000 year old island will remain untouched, abundant in rich flora and fauna.

Meanwhile, Funjet Vacations continues to expand, now offering service to and from Panama’s Tocumen International Airport (PTY). Available via scheduled air service on American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, US Airways, and Copa Airlines, this service is now available from origins nationwide on various days and flight patterns.

A cash incentive was also introduced in conjunction with the destination announcement. For a limited-time, agents can automatically earn $100 bonus cash per reservation. Valid from all origins for Panama vacations, agents can earn cash for bookings now through October 13 for travel through the end of the year.

This is the first of several Panama incentives to be announced in 2011. To be eligible for this bonus offer, participants must be members of Fun For Life, Funjet Vacations’ Agent Rewards Program. Cash is automatically tracked through the program.

This addition to Funjet Vacations’ product line-up includes 15 hotels located in the three main destination zones -  Panama City, the rainforest, and the beach. The hotels will range from a 2.5-star lodge built on stilts over the Caribbean Sea to an assortment of luxurious hotel offerings in the heart of Panama City.  To further enhance their clients’ vacation experience, agents can also offer an array of tours including the city and canal tour, the indigenous community encounter, and the cross-country train excursion, to name a few.

Funjet Vacations plans to release its 2012 Panama brochure within the next few weeks. Agents can also visit Funjet Vacations’ ultimate online sales, marketing and communication online resource center at VAXVacationAccess.com/Funjet, to sign up for webinar trainings and to learn more about the destination.
