AmaWaterways Names Alex Pinelo Head of Latin American Sales

AmaWaterways has announced that it has expanded its sales team, naming Alex Pinelo to the newly created position of director, Latin American sales. Effective immediately, Pinelo will be responsible for developing new Latin American markets, as well as expanding the company's existing relationships with the travel agent community throughout Latin America.

In a written release, Kristin Karst, executive VP and co-owner of AmaWaterways, said, "over the past several years, AmaWaterways has experienced tremendous sales growth coming from the Latin American markets. We feel the time is perfect to reinforce the existing team of specialists we have in place to better service and expand our presence in these markets."

With more than 20 years of experience, Pinelo has held senior leadership positions driving sales growth through national account management, as well as charters and incentive groups. Prior to joining AmaWaterways, he served as vice president of key accounts for Norwegian Cruise Line in Miami.

Earlier this month, AmaWaterways welcomed the company's newest vessel, AmaKristina. Sister ship to AmaViola and AmaStella, AmaKristina accommodates 156 guests and will be sailing the Rhine River between Amsterdam and Basel. The ship boasts spacious staterooms with twin-balconies and three dining venues including The Chef's Table - an intimate dining experience with a multi-course tasting menu paired with regional wines at no additional cost. Other amenities include a sundeck with running track; heated pool and swim-up bar; fitness center; hair salon and spa; free Wi-Fi throughout the ship; in-room Entertainment-On-Demand system and complimentary beer and wine with lunch and dinner.
