Tall ship sailing specialist Star Clippers has announced the appointment of Matthew Thiel to the role of business development executive, Central USA.
In his new position, based out of Wisconsin, Thiel will be responsible for developing, maintaining, servicing and growing sales for Star Clippers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Thiel will report to Terri Haas, vice president of sales for the Americas, in Miami.
Thiel has almost 10 years of experience in the travel industry and most recently was the business development manager for AIG Travel, responsible for signing new business in the Mid-America Sales Territory and Western Regions of the U.S. Prior, he was the business development manager for Travel Guard, and was accountable for growing their travel insurance business in California and Hawaii.
Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest and tallest sailing vessels.
